Senior Connections Volunteer

Make a difference in a senior's life through friendly visiting for one hour per week in the senior's home.
Senior Connections, a program of SASI, is a friendly visiting program that pairs isolated older adults in
Evanston and neighboring communities with caring volunteers from the community. As a visitor, you
meet with your new friend weekly to go for walk, sit and talk, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea together, or
even go out to eat or shopping.

All volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application, attend a 2 hour orientation/training,
provide 2 personal references, and have a background check. The background check is provided by us.
Families, couples, friends, and even pets are encouraged to volunteer together.

Once matched, we will personally introduce you to the senior and then the two of you will decide the
day and time to meet each week. Staff and additional training is available for ongoing support.
One hour a week can change a life! Find a new senior friend and inquire today!
