Preparing your home for home care
Having a home care aide is a new experience for many seniors and other adults. Some basic preparation can help make it a smooth transition.
How should you prepare your home? Consider: will you need additional insurance riders? If you’re considering a live-in aide, do you have a private area for that person to live? Does a room need to be cleaned out for him or her? Do you have valuable heirlooms or jewelry that should be moved to a safety deposit box? Be prepared!
Speak to your tax preparer. Ask how you should prepare to hire someone—either through an agency or independently.
