SASI Home Care Aides (also known as Caregivers) provide non-medical home care services and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) to clients.
SASI Home Care Aides help SASI clients achieve their highest possible level of independence. By helping to maintain a clean and safe environment, providing social engagement and support Home Care Aides help to promote both physical and mental well-being.
Home Care Aides are employees of SASI and receive annual training as required by the Illinois Department of Public Health, our licensing agency. Additionally, our Home Care Aides are provided opportunities for specialized training every year. Some of the specialized training has included Communicating with Adults with Alzheimer’s Disease, Nutrition and Healthy Cooking for Seniors and The Art of Jewish Caregiving.
SASI Home Care Aides are paid for all required and specialized training and receive ongoing support and supervision from SASI.
SASI respects and values our Home Care Aides so much so that we regularly give Caregiver of the Month Awards and the Ellen Browne Caregiver of the Year Award to honor them.
SASI is always looking for Home Care Aides to will help support our clients in their efforts to remain safely at home. We are selective, only 20% of applicants meet SASI’s expectations and requirements.
To be a SASI Home Care Aides one must have, at minimum, two years professional experience working in the home(s) of older adults and US citizenship or authorization to work in the United States.
Additionally, to be a successful candidate as a SASI Home Care Aide you must be able to communicate well in English, have a a positive attitude, professional work ethic, and an appreciation of older adults. A cheerful disposition and sense of humor are always a plus.
