Initial Application and Ongoing Eligibility
Application appointments can be made by calling (847) 864-7274, Monday through Friday. In order to complete the application, SASI requires:
- Two years of home care experience
- Three professional references
- Proof of residency and work eligibility
Prior to working with SASI, applicants need the following:
- Agency interview
- A physical and TB test
- Fingerprint based criminal background check
- Extended Interview Session (8 hours)
The application takes an average of one hour to complete. Only 20% of the applicants meet SASI’s expectations and requirements.
To remain an active part of the SASI aide pool, there are ongoing requirements:
- Annual TB test
- Criminal background checks as required
- Current identification and work eligibility documents
- Meeting ongoing job training requirements of sixteen hours each year
- Professionalism, reliability, good communication, and dependability
